Thank you!

Christmas sparkle

Once again we are indebted to so many individuals, businesses and other organisations who have helped us to make Christmas an enjoyable time for so many who are experiencing hardship for one reason or another. We have been able to provide Christmas treats with our December food parcels, gifts for  the children of our clients (courtesy of the Hampshire Chronicle Toy Appeal) and we have been the beneficiaries of the proceeds from several Christmas concerts and events. The support that we receive is just amazing and we are extremely grateful.

Update on ClothingDonation of clothes

Owing to pressures on space at our premises in Milland Road, we regret that we can no longer accept donations of children’s clothing, bedding or other household items. We will continue to offer a small range of men’s and women’s clothing and would discourage large quantities of unsorted items in black bin liners. We thank you for your understanding.

Looking back at 2014

Another busy year for us. Over the past twelve months we supplied 14887 days of food. December was exceptionally busy and we served 16% of the total number of clients during this month.

The total number of clients provided with food rose from 2936 to 3032, an increase of just over 3% on 2013. The number of children and families provided with assistance, however, grew by 8% and 7% respectively.

Items in Short Supply

Following our hectic Christmas period and fairly busy start to the New Year, we are currently low on stocks of tinned meat and UHT milk. Donations of either of these would be greatly welcomed. Don’t forget that you can leave items in our trolleys at Sainsbury’s in Middlebrook Street and Badger Farm as well as at the new collection point in Waitrose, Weeke. Thank you for your support!
