Once again we are indebted to so many individuals, businesses and other organisations who helped to make Christmas an enjoyable time for so many who are experiencing hardship. We were able to provide Christmas treats with our December food parcels, as well as gifts for the children of our clients, courtesy of the Hampshire Chronicle Toy Appeal and Scarlett Aylen from Alresford. Scarlett raised cash to buy and donate a large number of new toys. We have also been the beneficiaries of the proceeds from several Christmas events. The support that we receive is amazing and we are extremely grateful.
2015 Another busy year!
Another busy year for us. Over the past twelve months we supplied 15060 days of food. December was exceptionally busy and we served as many people in the 2 days before Christmas as we would normally serve in a whole month!
The total number of clients provided with food was 2770, a slight reduction from 2014.
Items in short supply
Following our hectic Christmas period and fairly busy start to the New Year, we are currently low on stocks of tinned meat and UHT milk. We also need deodorant (for men and women) and shampoo. Donations of any of these would be greatly welcomed. Thank you for your support!
University of Winchester Foundation Music – Charity of the Year
We are delighted that the Foundation Music department at the University of Winchester has voted Winchester Basics Bank as their Charity of the year. They already have fundraising events planned in March at 2 Vocal and Instrumental showcases. We look forward to working with them throughout the year.
