You can give to the Basics Bank in several ways:

Food

We are always in need of tinned and dried food. Items can be brought into the Basics Bank in Milland Road during opening hours (Tuesday and Fridays, 10am-3pm) or put into our trolleys at either of  the Sainsbury’s stores at Badger Farm and Middle Brook Street, the Co-op in Alresford or Waitrose in Stockbridge Road, Weeke.

Currently (January 2019) we are particularly short of the following items:-

  • Long-life milk
  • Tinned custard
  • Rice pudding
  • Tins of meat (e.g. stewed steak, minced beef & onions, chicken in mushroom sauce)
  • Porridge
  • Small jars of coffee

These are the items we normally stock:

  • Rice (long grain and basmati)

  • UHT Milk (1 litre full and semi skimmed)

Clothes

ClothingThe Basics Bank is delighted to advise that after a recent request we are well supplied with clothing. Please do not bring any more.

However we are in desperate need for coathangers. If you have any spare that you could donate to us please bring them to our premises in Milland Road during opening hours (Tuesday and Fridays, 10am-3pm). Thanks

Havest Festival contributions

Schools and other organisations will often hold collections for food at Harvest Festival time during the autumn; the Basics Bank gratefully receives these contributions.
