National Citizenship Service Bakesale
WBB thanks the young people who took part in the National Citizenship Service Bakesale
A group of 15 young people took part in NCS (National Citizenship Service) and as a part of this were responsible for coming up with an idea of how best to benefit the local community.
Flo (one of the group) reports that they chose to fundraise for The Winchester Basics Bank due to the recent effects of rising bills on households’ finances. They hoped that they could help to relieve one element of stress on households.
Overall the young people ended up raising over £400, partially through a bakesale and partially through a gofundme. Every person in the group made something for the bakesale and they advertised it through social media and had people walking around the area with signs. Flo said that they all really enjoyed collaborating on this fundraiser and were very pleased with the amount they raised.
